RIOTS ON ROUTE ONE!

LET’S START A RIOT! Last night on route one was the craziest night college park has seen since 2002. What up guys, I’m back after a nice break from blogging. After the Terps beat Duke, students flocked to route one cheering and dancing. They were full of spirit and excitement and so high off of adrenaline. The students blocked off route one and screaming cheers for Maryland–with countless “Fuck Duke!” chants. It was a great night to be a Terp…until the cops came. Officers on horse back lined up in the streets and started coming towards the students. S.W.A.T guys filed up and marched towards the kids, banging their shields, holding riffles filled with rubber pellets, and carrying mace that they would use against anyone in their path. That’s officially when chaos broke out. People were being arrested and dragged to the center of the street being beaten by clubs. At the end of the night, 27 kids were arrested, and 2 suffered minor injuries. I myself got tear gassed, and my eyes were burning and tearing, while my lungs were on fire. I was coughing for about 3 minutes straight.

One kid burned a Duke jersey on a tree and the branch caught on fire. We were all chanting and the SWAT kept coming and we kept running. We ended up at Mckeldin Mall, where people lit trash cans and dumpsters on fire. At this point, the cops had hooks on the end of their sticks, which were used to reel any collegiate in sight. The kids tried flipping a bus, but that didn’t really work out. All the emotions every Terp was feeling was contagious. They threw snowballs at the SWAT, but they had full body shields. If this doesn’t scream CHAOS, nothing does. There was one kid trying to climb up a lamp post upside down!

This is definitely one of the best college experiences I have ever participated in. it was mayhem ever, with fireworks just going off everywhere. And all of this is because we beat Duke! I’m damn proud of Maryland, and last night, I had the most severe case of Terrapinitis~!

Maryland Basketball: UMD vs. UNC!

I went to the UMD vs. UNC game, and didn’t believe how great we were. We were never down, and ultimately didn’t blow the lead resulting in another victory. UNC came close, but somehow we pulled away and at one point had a 20+ lead. Our defense was incredible, and Greivis Vasquez only did 1 shimmy in the entire game! This calls for a celebration. That’s all for now folks. Stay classy College Park.

A very motivational story. He shoots 500 baskets a day…Never leaves the court until he is fully satisfied he learned a new skill that particular day….And he is only 9 Years old. Watching Dakota Simms play even makes me nervous to play with him and i am 22 years old. Don’t get it twisted yall! I definitely can ball but this kid right here is the only one that can stop himself from being the next Kobe or Lebron James.

World’s record holder for the 100m, 200m and probably any other race involving running fast from the start to the finish line under 400m, has finally gotten involved with the World’s fastest animal…THE CHEETAH from Kenya.

He actually is adopting a baby Cheetah cub that was abandoned by the mother and is paying $13,000 plus an annual $3,000 to cater for the animal while it remains under the care of the Kenya Wildlife Service, and some will be used to protect Kenya’s endangered species, KWS director Julius Kipngetich said.

Sorry the headline got you all excited…but that would be great if that happened on HBO pay-per-view, dont you think?

Despite losing out to the Magic in their grueling playoff series, according to FOXSports, LeBron is “happy” in Cleveland. Next year LeBron has the option of becoming a free agent or taking Cleveland’s 3-year contract extension. James will keep fans in limbo as he takes a break from the game and spends time with his family.

John Madden Retires – “The long ride is over”

As of Wednesday, April 15, 2009, The biggest name in NFL football, 16 time Emmy winner, SuperBowl Champion, play-by-play commentatorship (if that’s really a word), sports video gaming and athletes foot disease therapy will finally be retiring from television and sports in general. John Madden announced that it has been a great 50 year career and now he is 73 years old, he thinks it is time to call it quits.

Its about to feel like a brand new phase for all football lovers and gamers. Questions arise like “What will Madden NFL football video games look like without John Madden’s voice and name tagged along with it?” “What will Monday Night Football feel like without John Maddens analysis of every single play throughout the entire game?” and “Would we ever see another Tinactin Athletes Foot therapy commercial?”

Arsenal Gunners are my favorite futbol team in the entire world. It’s been an up and down season for the Gunners but they have recently been a tear in the English Premier League. In Europe’s most prestigious club tournament, The European Champion’s League, Arsenal’s striker Emmanuel Adebayor unleashes one of the best bicycle kicks I have ever seen in the 46^th minute.
