Who Are We

Ngozi
What’s popping College Park! Ngozi “Gozi” Nwaneri here. Senior, Information Systems and Finance double major in the Smith School of Business. I want to be the coolest kid in America when I grow up (well on my way there). If that doesn’t work, I’ll settle for being a Systems Security Architect for an Investment Bank. Underneath this chiseled, mahogany shell of a body, I’m a brimming nerd. Don’t let my keen fashion sense and extremely cool swag fool you. I love Maryland with all my heart. I know the daily menus for North and South Campus diners, and you can probably catch me singing the Maryland “Fight” song anytime of the day. I play in College Park’s hottest band, Urban Cartel. We’re hot so check us out. I also do stand-up comedy and I love to cook. I absolutely love music. If its music related and it sounds good, you’ll probably catch me near it. No matter the genre; no matter the style. If you’re an artist, play in a band, have any musical suggestions or questions, send me a quick one at ngozinwaneri@gmail.com to have your music featured, questions replied.

Alex
The name is D. Alexander W. Lee, born and raised in Maryland, I am a proud product of public schools pursuing the study of public corporations. Pursing a double-degree in Finance and Economics as a junior at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, I employ my knowledge at T. Rowe Price Group as a data analyst. I founded DL Squared, LLC with business magnate Daniel J. Lau-Lopez to test my entrepreneurial mettle. I also founded the Alpha Chapter of Omga Nu Eta Fraternity, Inc. After graduation, I want to become an investment banker for a bulge bracket firm such as Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. What I love most about Maryland: highest income per capita of all US states. In my limited spare time I enjoy watching all movie genres but am partial to epic movies. I want to get better at golf, trap and skeet, fishing, boating, valuating companies, working 28 hour workdays and drinking red bull.

Ashley
Hola! My name is Ashley Nicaragua and I am a junior at the University of Maryland but according to my credits and addiction to Rt.1 bars I should be a freshman! (kidding) I am majoring in Criminal Justice and possibly Spanish? I was looking for the “Become a Celeb” major but Maryland doesn’t offer that. I am 20 years old and will never be too old for the Disney Channel. I am convinced that I will be joining the cast of High school Musical 4. I idolize the wrong people, Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian and Eva Mendes. Reality Tv controls my life. I abbreviate and make up my own words on a daily basis and I have a nickname for everyone so hopefully my blog is not too hard to keep up with! On a serious note, my family means everything to me. I am from Nicaragua but was raised in NY. Hopefully someday I will be working at the Nicaraguan Embassy. To relieve stress from school I love shopping, going to the gym, hanging out with my friends, dancing, and reading my daily dose of celeb gossip. Stay tuned to my blog with Vassiliki as we dish dirt on Hollywood’s royalty.

Daniel
What’s up College Park! My name is Daniel Joshua Lau-Lopez and I’m a senior Information Systems & Operations Management double major at the University of Maryland College Park. I’ve grown up in Riverdale, MD (like a mile down Route 1) all my life and have grown a certain attachment to the University, so much that this was the only school that I applied to! I absolutely love the fact that Maryland has everything in the world to offer: good athletics, a great social scene, award-winning academic programs, and diversity like no other. We’re minutes away from the historic Nation’s Capital, plus we have beaches and mountains not too far away, and we are able to experience every type of weather Mother Nature can throw at us! I aim to grow up to be the HispAsian Diddy, just on a larger level with way more cross-over appeal (Is that even possible?). I love all types of music, fashion, and trains of thought. If you need any girl advice, rookie business consultation, or just want to be a friend shoot me an email at dlaulopez@gmail.com

The people, the school,….. EVERYTHING!! I am also a sister of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin sorority, Innccccorrporated. I love my sorority and chapter mucho!! It feels amazing to be part of a great sisterhood! I am also a teller at Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union and have been working there forevverrrrr!!! I speak 5 different languages. I am from Nepal, born and raised, but almost everyone around me is probably Latin. I am just a down to earth girl that is up for everything and anything.

Lucy
I’m Lucy, a junior majoring in economics, but I’m actually thinking about pursuing a career in pharmacy. What I love about Maryland would have to be the diversity. There are so many people of different backgrounds with different tastes and styles. I can never get bored of the place. Two of my greatest passions are music and food. When it comes to music, I listen to pretty much to any and everything. I’m just as open-minded when it comes to food. I’m down to try or cook almost anything at least once (as long as it doesn’t involve live bugs, or raw tomatoes). Besides that I like spending time with with my friends, my lovely alpha Kappa Delta Phi sisters, and family.

Rachel
Hello loves and gents. I’m Rachel, a sophomore pre-dentistry major at UMCP, a loyal TERP (Truly, Entirely Rachel’s Passion) I love CP… and being raised on the Eastern Shore all my life has made me love it that much more! I usually roll out of bed and go to class in my sweats in the morning (aka. PINK pants I know you ladies know what i’m talking about and don’t lie you guys know too) and get dressed and dolled up at night. Bum by day, diva by night. I’m a hybrid caucasian, i’m half white and half Filipino (shoutout to all my pinoy(ay)s and fellow FCA [Filipino Cultural Association] and MBSA [Multi-racial, bi-racial student association]members) Anyway, i guess you could say I want a taste of Maryland in every aspect, whether it be sports, clubs, TT, Fe or even Noodles and Co. I love it all and couldn’t ask for a better University to attend.

Rajesh
Hey Terps, I’m Vighna Rajesh Karyampudi, I know that’s too hard so we will just stick with “Raj”. I’m a Senior, soon to be 5th year Senior, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Minor in International Engineering and member of the Quality Enhancement Systems & Teams Honors (QUEST) Program. I also am a founding father of an all-new multicultural fraternity, Omega Nu Eta [ΩNH]. If you think of stuff to share, just email me at vrkaryampudi@h0tmai!.c0m (I did this so spammers cant scan the website for my email address)

Shakia
Hey Hey!! Its ya girl Shakia of course. Im a Sophomore at Maryland, majoring in Nuerobio….lol dont ask me why! Ever since i was younger I wanted to be a pediatrician, but science at Maryland seems to take the fun out of this idea. If it wasn’t for my social life here, i’d probably be MISERABLE. ALthough it can get a lil hectic on campus, Maryland is definitely the place to be. From thursday through saturday you can count on having a place to party and relax! Im very extroverted, so i love mingling with people and dancing is my all time favorite pass time. If you see me around, just shoot me a hello!!!

Britto
Hey Guys! My names Brittany but everyone calls me Britto. I’m a sophomore at University of Maryland College Park. My major’s English. I’m a PROUD KRIOLA! Half Cape Verdean, Half Creole. I’m slightly nomadic. I love to travel and spent all of my highschool years overseas. Hong Kong is the last place I lived and I repp it to the fullest
. Aside from that, I’m a real chill chick. I love music and writing and partying (ROUTE ONE is the place to go in CP lol). Chipotle is my one weakness, I can’t get enough guacomole! I do modeling on the side whenever time allows. I’m currently a CampusGirlUSA2009. Check the website for photos! While modeling is one of my great aspirations, my main goal is to get involved with a magazine and eventually create and write for my very OWN
. Anyone who knows me can tell you I am completely goofy. I love to laugh. I love to have fun, that’s all apart of being the goofy college kid that I am!

Simpson
Hey guys! My name is Simpson Gregoire and I am a senior Chemical Engineering major at the University of Maryland. I’ve been in love with UMCP ever since the days of Joe Smith and crew back in the early 90’s. Even though the Terps haven’t been up to par these past couple of years, I still love them! What I love about UMCP is that it has the best mixture of academics, social life, and sports out of any college in the country. We are the only school to think of clever sayings on the go (remember the JJ is redickous-ly gay, yea those guys go to UMCP!) and our alumni get a kick out of it. When I grow up, which is in like 5 years, I want to be a pharmaceutical drug researcher, making some cool vaccines that could save some lives and add a couple of O’s to the end of my paycheck. In order to do that, I have to get my Ph.D, which I will be starting in the Fall of 2009. While at UMCP, I have become a shopaholic, music elitist, shoe collector, full-scholarship winner, significant other, and executive board member of one the greatest organizations ever created, the National Society of Black Engineers,. If you ever see me walking into the Chemical Engineering building, 9.9 times out of 10 I will have my headphones on bumping some N.E.R.D, A Tribe Called Quest, Common, Clipse, Little Brother or someone who sounds like them. My goals in life are to drive a BMW, have plenty children, live lavishly, give back to my family, save some lives, and give back to the school that made me who I am, the University of Maryland!

Vicky
So, my name is Vassiliki Athena Key but most people know me as Vicky. I am a Junior History and Secondary Education double degree student with a lot more to offer than historical facts. I love being an active student on campus and try to be involved with as many things as possible. I am the Vice President of External Affairs for the Multiracial Biracial Student Association and I also work with SMACK energy bar, team College Park. I am 21 years old with a passion for traveling across Europe, listening and singing to music, hanging out with my best friends, and bar hopping on any given day, Thursday through Sunday. Reality T.V. shows and hot pockets with hot sauce are my current addictions and I do not plan on giving them up soon. Look out for my blogs on the latest celebrity gossip happening in Hollywood, New York, D.C., and our very own COLLEGE PARK!!
